Tapestry Award

The BBSA Tapestry Award is named to honor a Stanford Business School African American Alumnus who has woven inspirational leadership, intellectual excellence, and service to others into his or her professional and personal lives. Like a finely textured fabric this individual has, through their contribution and action, reminded us of the strength, beauty, and integrity of our ancestry and the importance of maintaining these qualities in our lives. The art of weaving is a source of tradition and pride in the African American community. As far back as our African ancestors, the vibrant color and intricate design of tapestries have carried the symbolism and complexity of our heritage as well as the significance of our history. The award will be given at BBSA Gathering 27 on Saturday, April 24.
